Privacy

Plain language, no legalese. This is what Tapester actually does with your data.

What we collect

Your email address. Used only to sign you in via a magic link (no passwords) and to keep your mixtapes tied to your account.

What you type in. The vibe description, mood/genre/decade selections, artist names, and greeting messages you enter are saved with the mixtape so you can edit, duplicate, or remix it later.

Song data. Track titles, artists, album art, and preview links come from Spotify's public catalog to build and search your playlist.

What we don't keep

Photos. If you upload a photo to help set the vibe, it's sent once to our AI provider to read the mood of the image, and that's it — it is never saved to our database or any storage, and isn't kept after that single request finishes.

Passwords. There aren't any — sign-in is a one-time email link, so there's nothing to store or leak.

Who we share it with

Tapester runs on a small set of third-party services, each doing one job:

  • OpenAI. Generates playlists, song summaries, and greeting message suggestions from what you type in (and your photo, if you add one).
  • Spotify. Provides song search and track metadata.
  • Supabase. Stores your account and mixtape data, and handles sign-in.
  • Resend. Delivers the sign-in email and nothing else.
  • Vercel. Hosts the app.

We don't sell data, and we don't run ad trackers or analytics that profile you.

Recipients

The person you send a mixtape to doesn't need an account to open it — visiting your share link doesn't require them to hand over any personal information.
